Rebuilding

Photos of progress on work on the building were circulated. Digger Harden has circulated a written update on progress and budget projections for the work to be completed. He told the meeting that the contractors were working well and work on the club should be completed in time for the start of the sailing season and finished with the re-connection of the electricity supply by EDF. Galley equipment, tables and chairs are to be delivered on 6 April. Another working party will be required to help with installing furniture.

Further club development work

The committee discussed moving the main entrance to the club to the side and area currently going to the race box. This would be a cheaper option and provide level disabled access. Enhanced security for the racebox would be required. Karen Sadler said there was still time to amend the planning application. John Hardy said that everyone was very keen to have disabled access and toilets installed. John Saunders said it was important that each stage of improvement to the club be organised with funding for each stage as individual projects.

Restoration of some items salvaged from the interior of the club is in hand. Karen Sadler had received two offers of help with photographs and future data storage.

Special thanks were offered for the tremendous efforts being put in by Digger Harden, Tracy Saunders and Karen Sadler.

Re-opening party discussed. John suggested combining Club House official opening with the Pontoon Party and calling it the Club House Party. Same format as other years with money still going to Stuart Paul charities. Official opening built into the day with other local clubs invited. John to advise suitable date
