We have been asked by Stuart the Commodore of the RCYC to invite BSC members to the below, hear first hand over dinner from Brian Thompson. 
Brian Thompson, Vendee Globe CompetitorFriday 1st May 2009Brian Thompson, who is an honorary member of the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, has just returned from competing in the Vendée Globe (a single-handed, non-stop round the world race). Of thirty boats on the start line Brian battled through the world’s most hostile conditions and sailed over 27,000 miles on his own for over three months to come a very credible 5th in the race. We are very lucky to have Brian Thompson here at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club on Friday 1st May 2009 to tell his tale of competing in the Vendée globe. You are invited to hear his story, so come and enjoy a meal and afterwards, whilst sipping your tea or coffee, sit back and listen to Brian tell how he battled through those hostile conditions! |
